Jose Llanas is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt Instructor at Team Tooke MMA, and Team Tooke Cypress. Jose’s roots in martial arts date back nearly a decade when he started Tae Kwon Do and Boxing as a teenager. Jose’s story in martial arts started like most. He wanted to learn self defense, get in shape and challenge himself and decided to try Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. After a few classes, Jose was fascinated by Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He says he was insprired by his coaches and developed a desire to keep learning. Soon after that he developed a strong passion for the art. With goals in mind I pushed to become the best individual and competitor I could be.
Jose has also become a part of the BJJ and MMA competition team. Some of his goals and dreams are winning a World Championships in Jiu-Jitsu. He has competed in competitions locally, nationally and internationally including the Gi and No Gi World Championships, Pan Am Championships and has made a name for himself as a top ranked competitor on the Professional Super Fight Jiu Jitsu Circuit. Along with Jiu Jitsu, he also has captured a MMA Amateur Welter Weight Championship Belt for Garcia Promotions.
WHAT I LOVE ABOUT BEING A COACH:
I am now fortunate enough to have been able to turn my Passion for learning and studying Jiu Jitsu into teaching and mentoring Adults and Children at Team Tooke to help them reach all their goals and pass on all the wonderful benefits of adopting Martial Arts into their way of life, just like I have. It’s a journey full of new personal growth and great experiences for a lifetime. So I am here every week. So when you see me, please come by and say Hi! And let me know how you’re doing.
